The paper surface is covered with a few layers of special fixative spray that keeps paper from fading and damaging.

As a part of the “Chess” collection, this piece plays with abstraction and realism, blending together an Italian landscape with a rich marble texture. Each square is an abstract artwork in an of itself, and we can move from closer observation to seeing the whole picture and back. It becomes a game of focus and resolution.
